How to Book Your Ferry

Scroll to the bottom of this page for FAQS

Create your Steamship Authority (SSA) Account

In order to book a ferry reservation with the Steamship Authority, you must first create an account

Fill out the Contact information

If you have traveled with the SSA previously you will have a number but if you are unable to find it in your old emails please click “No, I don’t.” If that does not work, please create a new account with a different email address than used previously.

Fill out the rest of the necessary information on the page

Go to the My Vehicles tab and click add new vehicle

Enter your Vehicle Information

Enter your license plate information of the Vehicle you plan to bring. You may change your vehicle information later on should you decide to bring a different car. This may be done on the website but we recommend calling the SSA directly to make sure that you don’t accidentally cancel your reservation.

Enter the year/make/model of your vehicle (It is likely your exact vehicle is not listed, if not enter any pre 2000 Land Rover model you can find - it shouldn't matter the year as long as the dimensions are roughly the same, i.e. anything under 20ft)

From the Steamship Authority website: All reservations are non-transferable and a license plate number is required

FAQs

What Number Should I call on the Steamship Authority Website?

While the Steamship Authority has several numbers listed on the bottom of their website, many of the numbers do not work. We recommend calling either (508) 477-8600 or (508) 548-5011

What if I am traveling with a Trailer?

If you are traveling with a trailer, we suggest leaving it in one of the Steamship Authority Parking lots on Cape Cod to make your travels easier. If you must/want to bring a trailer over to Martha’s Vineyard, please fill out the information on the website or call the Steamship Authority at the number listed on their website to arrange the logistics. It is very much possible to do but requires extra planning.

What if I am Unsure If I will Be able to make it the Vineyard Series 2022/Should I book a ferry?

If you are unsure as to whether or not you will be able to attend The Vineyard Series 2022 but would like to attend, we recommend booking a ferry to keep your options open. Ferries tend to sell out for the summer weekends as early as February/March, however weekday ferries normally continue to have availability closer to the event, in some cases, the week before. Please see the following question about refunds.

Will I get a Refund if I cancel?

From the Steamship Authority Vehicle Reservation Policies: Vehicles less than 20 feet must be canceled at least 14 days in advance of scheduled departure time to receive a refund. Vehicles 20 feet and over must be canceled at least 24 hours before scheduled departure time to receive a refund. There is a $10.00 processing charge for all refunds regardless of when cancellation notice is received.

Where can I find My Profile Number?

Your profile number can be found by clicking on the “My Account” button on the upper left corner of the Steamship Authority website

Will The Vineyard Series have any extra reservations reserved?

We will do our best to reserve ferry reservations but we cannot guarantee anything. We are more than happy to help you set up your own. Email us at vineyardseries@gmail.com with questions or to set up a phone call.
